Every Day Gratefulness

10th June 2022

Each day, include three things you are grateful for and three things you accomplished.

Enjoy a cup of coffee first thing in the morning. Coffee consumption may help prevent depression. You may have trouble drinking coffee because of the caffeine, so try another good-for-you drink, such as green tea.

Focus on your strengths. Start with something you’re good at, then move on to something harder.

You could try a new recipe, write down your strengths, gardening, Being creative promotes overall well-being.

Show some love to someone in your life. Close, quality, relationships are key for a happy, healthy life.

Getting pleasure doesn’t always require adding new activities. Just soak up the joy of the ones we already have. Optimism doesn’t mean ignoring the ugly side of life. Focus on the positive as much as possible.

Anxious? Clear your mind by colouring for about 20 minutes. Consider a design that’s geometric and a little complicated.

Have a laugh. Watch a comedy, hang out with a funny friend, or look at cute videos online. You will feel less anxious when you laugh.

Dance around link to the inner child. Dancing reduces levels of cortisol (the stress hormone), and increases endorphins (the body’s “feel-good” chemicals).

Have a warm bath. Epsom salts soothe aches and pains and boost magnesium, which can be depleted by stress.

Time with animals lowers the stress hormone cortisol and boosts oxytocin, which boosts happiness. Spend time with a friend who has a pet or volunteer.

Stressed? Smile. Smiles can help lower your heart rate and calm you down, even if they aren’t the easiest thing to do.
